Mt FUJI Among Bamboo

Hi All,
Well, like I said, here is my last acrylic painting that I was finishing up. I used a nice black background and only two colors. At least my wife likes this one.I have no idea what to do next, My mind has been in other places lately other than painting. My wife has to go into the hospital to remove a tumor on her lung. The Doc's say it is in the early stages, which helps a lot. She seems pretty upbeat about it so we both hope for the best. Now that said, I have been meaning to mention a website that I have. Its http://www.zazzle.com/bbrunelleb*. Its a pretty interesting site. You can order custom made t-shirts, mugs, stamps and lots more stuff. As a matter of fact I have one t-shirt on there with my watercolor painting of "Fallen Heros". There is lots of stuff. You really have to see it.
Another thing I would like to mention is that if anyone has a particular"saying" that they would like to put on a product, let me know and I will do it for you. OK, I've got to leave for now but I'll be back as soon as I can.

Another Abstract

I really had fun doing this one. I did this one on canvass board. It was all done with acrylic paint. When I finished it, I stared at it for quite awhile and tried to figure out what I saw in it. Well, I finally decided that it looks like an explosion in the galaxie. What do you think?
As usual, my wife still says it looks like "throw-up" Oh well, to each his own. Im not discouraged by her opinion so I will keep on plugging along because I love this painting thing.
I was eating dinner the other night in a Japanese restaurant. As you walk into the lobby, there was an interior design that I took a picture of with my cell camera. I am going to try and make a painting of it.
I'm about halfway through and it looks pretty good so far. As soon as I finish it I will have it up on the blog. So far I like the way it looks. I used black background paper and the painting really stands out. Believe it or not but my wife likes this one. I guess its because its not an abstract. Okay, thats it, I'll see ya later!

My First Abstract

Well, What do you think? Its my first abstract. I like it myself but my wife does not! I dont't know why I'm telling you this but she says it looks like (are you ready for this.) "throw-up"

Can you imagine that? Actually I never laughed so hard in my life. Its the first time I ever heard anyone call any abstract, throw-up. Needless to say my wife does not like abstract painting. She thinks all you do is splatter paint all over the canvas and you can never tell which is the bottom and which is the top! Well, I gave up trying to explain abstracts to her.

I am finding out the many ways you can paint abstracts. You can use crumpled up plastic bags, salt, alcohol, or just spray water all over while the paint is still wet. Actually, there are so many ways to do it, its unbelievable. As I go along I will try a little of everything and see what happens. Meanwhile, take care and I'll see ya later!

California Seascape

Well, I finally finished this one. It's a seascape, as you can see, and it looks like I am improving. Those are the words of my "family critics" My wife tells me that the water is to blue, so I'll keep that in mind for my next project. I got this from a photograph that was taken on the northern California coast by a friend of mine. The only thing different is the "birds, or I should say, "gulls" They weren't in the original picture but I thought that adding them in would enhance it a little.
I think from now on I will be doing a lot of paintings with rocks and mountains in them. Its a challenge to me to try and get the right shapes and shadowing in the painting. For me its a challenge but I'm sure the pro's do it with ease. Speaking of Pro's, does anyone watch Bob Ross paint on his daily TV show? He is, or I should say was fantastic. Bob passed away about ten years or so ago but his show lives on. I think it's amazing the way he uses his talent. I'm learning a lot just watching him paint his beautiful landscapes and seascapes. I can understand why his show goes on and on even though he is gone.
Well, thats enough jabbering for awhile. I've got to get to my next painting so I'll see you when I've finished.
